Mission:
The Department of Community Development's top priority is providing a better quality of life for the citizens of Chattanooga by focusing on enhancing the minds through programming that builds character, offering crisis assistance and support services to families in need.
This department is divided into 3 major divisions:
Community Centers
18 community centers, 2 civic centers open to Chattanooga residents. Find educational programs, various social and recreational activities, rental space, and more. Youth, adults, and seniors are welcome. FAQs
Community Advisory Committee (CAC)
Community advisory committees help ensure community centers best serve the surrounding neighborhoods. Advisory committee members are responsible for working alongside neighborhoods to advise the community centers’ staff on programming and community engagement.
Office of Family Empowerment
